Audio: Rabbi David Cooper on G-D Being a Verb!

cooper copy This morning an excellent radio interview with Rabbi David Cooper showed up in my RSS feed reader. What can I say other than fun, fun, fun! I’m a huge fan of Rabbi Cooper (as are a few others here at JBC.org) and in fact his book “G-D Is a Verb” was either my first or second Jewish purchase ever. Recently I have been spending a fair amount of time rereading and listening to his audio lecture/programs (I own everything he’s done). Because as I’ve mentioned elsewhere on this blog, as of late I’m trying to connect to the more interior (mystical) side of Judaism because it’s just something, I haven’t been focusing on enough since arriving in Los Angeles. All of that to say that his audio interview showing up in my feed reader today is serendipitous to say the least, considering my recent return to the subjects he teaches on.

Anyhow below is a synopsis of the interview and below that is a link to a downloadable version of the program.

This unusual title of David Cooper’s book captures the essence of the Kabbalah, the mystical Jewish tradition that has become popular again. Rabbi Cooper’s own journey followed a spiritual search to Eastern traditions, but later in life it took him back to Judaism through the mystical door. Cooper describes his journey and explains some of Kabbalah’s key concepts, such as ‘riding the chariot’ and ‘the 72 names of God’.

Download and listen to it here.

Oh I forgot to mention that this interview aired on “The Spirit of Things” which is a weekly spirituality radio program that airs on ABC (The Australian Broadcasting Corp). You can click here to learn more about the program.

FYI: I believe that the online versions of this radio program are only available for download for about four weeks after its original airing. Actually it might even only be two weeks but I’m fairly certain it’s for. Anyhow for those of you who are fans of Rabbi Cooper you might want to download and save this to your hard drives because it won’t be available online for long.
