FYI: The Reconstructionist Journal Is Available Online

This is just a quick pre-Shabbos post, to share a newly discovered resource with the rest of you. To be honest I’m not sure how I missed this being the religion geek that I am, but somehow I did. It would seem that over a decades worth, of the Reconstructionist Journal (a publication of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association) is available online. For free!

Mordecai M. Kaplan (founder of the Reconstructionist movement) has been a huge influence on me and I often fancy myself something of a “color inside the lines (of the Conservative Movement) Reconstructionist Kaplanian,” so obviously I was thrilled to stumble across this great resource.

Anyhow, regardless of whether or not you self identify as a Reconstructionist, there’s a ton of good reading here and in my opinion, something for everyone. So if you’re looking to broaden your horizons and deepen your connection to Judaism (as an evolving religious civilization) be sure to check this resource out. For your convenience they’ve laid out the information by issue/date, articles by author and book reviews by author.

FYI I myself have been enjoying reading up on Reconstructionist thinking about Halacha.

And with that I wish you all a good Shabbos!
